Our History

From its beginning in 1972 as a Case and David Brown dealer in Trafalgar the business has been constantly evolving as a Case IH dealer. In 2003 the name was changed to Traf Tractors and Machinery.

15 years of expansion and growth since that time spread Traf Tractors beyond the localised business it once was, with a new branch into Maffra Gippsland and the further expansion into Tasmania with its Longford branch in 2018. The name was then changed to TTMI (Traf Tractors and Machinery Industrial) in April of 2018 to reflect the evolution of the brand

We are proud supporters of agriculture in Gippsland and want to strengthen our brand in the complete region. We are, however, proud of our heritage and wanted our name to acknowledge our journey to today.

April 2018 we as a company had an opportunity to venture into the Tasmanian agriculture market with the purchase of FMT (Farm Machinery Tasmania) which also supported the Case IH franchise and Case Construction for the Tasmanian market. The FMT business was owned by the Sweeney family from 2003 until 2018.

We have found both Gippsland and Tasmania have many synergies when it comes to climate, farming practices and machinery product lines.

We value our clients, suppliers and staff - therefore we live by our slogan "Partners in machinery"

TTMI were extremely proud to take home one of the major awards from this year’s Case IH Dealer of the Year Awards, held in Hobart 27/02/2020, claiming the title of Dealer of the Year 2020 (1 or 2 branches).

It was a big night for TTMI, also claiming Dealer of the Year - Most Improved and Dealer of the Year - Parts.

This award reflects back on our staff and wouldn’t have happened without their tremendous commitment and hard work. We love what we do and we love to sell tractors and to receive Dealer of the Year is a real honour,

The Dealer of the Year results rely on an objective ranking, based on factors including finance and business management, performance in sales and marketing, and parts and servicing, Advanced Farming Systems (AFS) Certification and total market share.
